Wedding Poems: Love (1)

I Knew It Was Forever
Poem by Summer Stobart

I knew it was forever with the simple touch of your hand,
I knew it was forever with each gentle word you said,
I knew it was forever with every beat of your heart,
I knew it was forever...
from the very start.

For Tom
Poem by Suzanne

You are my once in a lifetime
The truth behind all of my dreams
The one who can keep me together
When I'm coming apart at the seams

The answer to all of my questions
Shelter from the wind and the rain
The face that I see when I'm sleeping
Solace from grief and from pain

Yours is the hand that I cling to
When I'm lost, you're my guiding star
More precious to me than my own soul
My home is wherever you are

The Little Things
Poem by Nicole Sovis

There were no cards to tell you
What I feel inside-
So I had to write the prose myself
With words Hallmark couldn?t provide.

It?s not the places that we go,
Or the big things we?ve been through-
The little things are the reasons why
I love you like I do.

The little things you do for me,
The little things you say-
Your tender smile, your teasing grin
You bring sunshine to my day.
The thoughtful little gifts you give,
The little things we share-
Your gentle touch, your perfect kiss
Are the things that show you care.

Our road through life is bumpy,
And it isn?t always straight-
But I?m glad it?s you who?s by my side
With each twist and turn of fate.

So remember all these little things,
As we live our day to day-
Forever in my heart, David-
Is forever where you?ll stay.

Little Things
Poem by Cindy Oliver Ontario

It's the little things that develop love,
Not just the obvious that attraction's made of.
Love's what's deep down inside, what begs to be seen,
That place in their heart where nobody else has been.
Love's a sense of comfort, your connection together,
Where after such a short time, it's like you've known them forever.
Where you can just be yourself, know you're loved nontheless,
In their eyes you can see love, without doubt, without guess.
It's the little things that excite us like so,
When love spreads its wings, its beauty lets you know.
It's the little things, like a good-bye kiss,
Those lips you haven't left yet, but you already miss.
Love's such a little word, but its impact's very large,
Your feelings, thoughts, emotions, they all change when love takes charge.

MONEY TREE
Poem by KATHLEEN HOGAN

ONCE UPON A TIME, MANY YEARS AGO,
THE GIFT OF MONEY WAS PART
OF THE BRIDES TROUSSEAU.
WE HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT THIS,
AS YOU WILL SEE,
UPON ARRIVAL AT OUR RECEPTION
WE HAVE PLACED A MONEY TREE.
IF YOU WOULD RATHER BE MORE TRADITIONAL
THEN THIS LITTLE TREE IS OPTIONAL.
BUT WHATEVER YOUR GIFT BE,
IT WILL BRING PLEASURE
TO US BOTH, WE GUARANTEE.

Heaven Sent
Poem by Cheyenne Cole

Love ruled the day when the angels came to meet
Sweeping them up and off of their feet
Neither of them knowing what the future would bring
Two hearts together and one diamond ring
Today it?s a promise, so sweet and so pure
Together forever, for love shall endure

A blessing from above, this story is told
A love to last a lifetime and a hand to hold
It was no accident that this came to be
Now you must realize that it really takes three
So, go hand and hand to a future unknown
Knowing that with the Lord, you will never be alone

With the angels still near and dear to the heart
This couple shall prosper and never grow apart
For it?s not always the eye that is the first to see
What really matters in life and what is meant to be
So remember that to love is time well spent
And what brought you two together was heaven sent

Love never gives up
Poem by Averil Hatton Auckland New Zealand

For many years two different lands,
kept us apart,
but with the distance,
a flame still grew in our hearts,
so many people doubted our love,
could ever come true,
but we kept in touch,
because we knew,
that two different lands,
could not put out the flame of love.

We are now to-gether,
dispite those that doubted,
our obstacles over come,
and our life has begun,
we never doubted the flame in our heart,
and every moment is precious,
even those years spent apart.

So never give up
if it is meant to be,
God will grant you a way,
and the strength of your love,
will guide you through each day.

ON YOUR WEDDING DAY
Poem by Samad Holiday SOMERSET, NJ

Today is the day two people in love become one
It?s the day you?ll vow forever to put each other second to none
You?ll walk down the aisle and proclaim your love is true
While looking in each other?s eyes softly saying, ?I do?
?I do? those two little words define so much
But it?s the little words that got you here like love and trust
Many journey?s lie ahead for the both of you
Journeys filled with love laughter and lots of fun
Understand every marriage goes through its up and downs
However y?all will have more smiles then frowns
May every day bring you joy and happiness
As you?ll depart your families to start your own life
Success is yours and your dreams are to follow
Rejoice tonight for the job starts tomorrow

OUR WEDDING
Our old lives ending ? our new life begun!
We pray that life will be a warming sun,
Forever burning, lighting up a way
Of love and peace, through an eternal day
Full of kind deeds, born of a mutual caring ?
Sweet little things to make our lives endearing.

Pray that we'll love full free, and that we?ll give,
With selflessness, as long as we both live,
Not only pleasures, thrills, and joys ? well spent!
But hope, and faith, and trust, and sweet content
To each other ... and pray we'll bare our hearts,
To learn the maxims there which Love imparts,
So when comes trouble, or a little woe,
By understanding, friends, the cause will go?.

Our wedding is the fusion of our souls,
Our hearts, our loves, our minds, our goals,
Forever into one.... Does that sound wise?
To us, it does; and we will compromise
That our two lives may blossom as one flower,
Which grows more fragrant every passing hour,
And sends its perfume lingering on the air,
Sweet as a song that will not disappear
But haunts us, with clear notes, throughout the day;
And haunts us still, though our youth fade away.

Yes, by our true love bound ? husband and wife! ?
We?ll be the essence of each other?s life!
The yearning and the breath! and yes, the star!
And all the other precious things that are....

We?ll love so deep! Our love will be so true ?
Fresher than roses in dawn?s gems of dew.

Our love is great, and it will rise so tall,
In width and depth, our love will surpass all!
Let?s pray our love won?t know divorce?s hurt,
And, like some mountain, crumble into dirt....

We hope that God will guide us from above,
And grant us peace, to sanctify our love?.

Getting Married
Poem by Melinda Owens wedding

(Bride's name) is getting married,
isn't that just sweet.
Her wedding plans are perfect
but not quite complete.

We are giving her a shower,
to help her out a bit.
She needs something wear,
maybe he can see through it.

So come on over,
and bring a gift to bear.
Help us send her on her honeymoon
with a little flare

The Day
Poem by Legong

Today's a day of love not just for us,
But also for all of those who brought us here.
So please excuse us if we make a fuss
Over you, the ones we hold most dear.
In you we see the love we replicate
By joining on this day our separate lives.
Our choice was neither accident nor fate,
But homage to good husbands and sweet wives.
We look to you with gratitude and pride.
What joy this day to have you at our side

All Of My Life
Poem by Jean Roberts

The Words I do don't mean a thing if they are not from the heart.
To love, honor and obey is the road upon which the journey starts
All of my life I ve wanted to say those words
but only to the man I love.
All of my life I've asked the heavenly father from above ,
to send me the type of man that I could be proud of.
Finally, a man of character has come in to my life,
with high morals, principles, he has dignity and strife
I know God sent him to me because it feels so good and right.
I want mind saying the vows that were witten by the one who has all power,
I won't mind saying I will love honor and obey upon that cherished hour.
My heart will be over flowing with love , peace and joy,
because the words I Do are said to you and are easy to employ.
Thank you God for granting me the patience for this plight.
Thank you God for sending me the man I've wanted All of my Life!

Unitl Eternity
Poem by Glenda Kruse

Every night, when I watch you fall asleep, I thank the Lord for lending you to me, even though in my heart I know it won't be for eternity... There are so many things I love about you... It's like when the Lord made Adam, he meant for him to be more like you... That is why I thank the Lord for lending you to me, even though in my heart I know it won't be for eternity... At times, I do believe, that you were my Guardian Angel, sent from above and whom decided to be with me... I thank the Lord for lending you to me even though in my heart I know it won't be for eternity... Now I know that I don't ever want to let you go... And that is why, we have to prove to the Lord that our love will stay alive... And if we pray, each day, then maybe, some day, the Lord will see that we are meant to be together for eternity.

The Wedding Planner
Poem by Diana Hughes Near Cardiff

So the dates been set
But there's much to do yet
So much to organise
You barley have time to blink your eyes

There's the cake, the guests the dresses too
Oh there is so much to do!
The parties, the reception, the honeymoon
But the day will come round very soon

With your mother fussing with your hair
There are so many people every where
A hundred speeches torn apart
From your fathers practicing you know his off by heart

All your family are trying they're best
Though none of you can stop, can't stop for a rest
There's still the cars and the vicar to meet
Oh your all just rushed off your feet

Then there's the best man when will he ask?
Why for a man is it such a hard task?
There's still the church, the hymns and invites
You haven't had time to plan your hen and stag nights

You just know your not going to have enough time
What about the rings, the food and wine?
There's so many parcels at you door
At the postman last time you nearly swore!

Oh when will it be your big day?
You've been waiting for so long
You just hope everything will go as planned
SURELY nothing could go wrong!

happily ever after
Poem by tri tran california

Her heart next to his,
Weeping joyfully,
His soul holding hers,beaming.
In darkness shimmers her diamond ring,
Love, written in her blue eyes;
In daylight glistens his wedding band,
A happy husband, till death does he part.
The daily struggles try to break them up,
But the vow to be together mends the marriage.
The arguments, ongoing.....
Though,the passion for each other,
An unbreakable bond that everlasts.

It Was Fate
Poem by Chris Hutchinson Huntsville, AL

We found each other when the time was right,
Our hearts spoke to us very clearly.
We felt our souls instantly unite,
As seeing an old friend we cherished dearly.

We have the same ideas, thoughts and emotions,
We say the same things at the same time.
We have the same tastes, quirks, and notions,
We came together like a perfect rhyme.

You always laugh at my stupid jokes,
I hurt when you feel any pain.
You love my kids, I love you?re folks,
Our feelings on everything are one in the same.

It was fate that brought us to this day,
We both know this to be true.
That?s why it feels so right to say,
?Leigh, I was meant to spend the rest of my life with you!?

Now I would like to propose this toast,
To my beautiful and perfect new wife:
May fate always smile on us, and boast,
How it flawlessly joined our two lives.

Love Lost in Confusion
Poem by Jamall Maryland

It's not like it'll make a difference
If I tell you this or not
This comes from the bottom of my weakend heart
I trully love you alot
The way I look at you
It's too much for me to bear
I don't Understand why I even bother to care

It's very hard for me to tell If you care about me too
Because of your mixed signals
I can't really read you
Why must it be so hard
For me to live my life
When I'm living a decent one
Free from trouble and strife

I wish I had the words
To express this to you someday
But I wish I could be with you
In each and every way
I'll tell you this one last time
From my heart to you
I love you with all my heart
And I hope you love me too

Together As One
Poem by Jamie Milligan

You mean so much to me
So much that you can't even see
I wanna be with you so bad
That it makes me so sad

I think about you all the time
There's not a moment you don't cross my mind

Our love is so strong
There's no way it could be wrong

Can our love stand the test of time?
Will you be forever mine?

To think of where you are
Makes me want to break down and cry

When you last looked into my eyes
I didn't want to have to say goodbye

I can't stand being apart
You are the only one to hold my heart

Though we sleep under the same sky
I can't help but want you by my side

My memories shall hold me
Until your face I once more see

I miss you so much
What I would do to feel your touch

To feel your arms around me
As we sleep so soundly

Even though you are just a few miles away
In my heart you are with me everyday

You make me feel like no other has before
I can't wait till we are together again AS ONE!

United in Christ
Poem by Adrienne Prather Georgia

God brought this marriage together
and nobody can tear it apart.
United as one
and bound by your hearts
Making a vow to be together
till death do you part
Cherishing each other right from the start.
Sharing vows and memories throughout each new year.
Christ is in the center of this union so have no fear,
Blessings and love surrounds this marriage
so get ready for years of happiness
which is given from God above
He has blessed you with each other and
that is the meaning of true love.

Undying Love
Poem by Bonnie Carnahan

Wash away those teary eyes
Come rest your head upon my shoulders.

Tell me of your worries and your fears.

Walking down the river trail...
together hand in hand, me and you.

Talking of all the good times and the
not so good times.

Cleanse away all your worries and fears
and let them disapate in the rivers bend.

Let my love come through to you...
With open loving arms.

Don't shed no more tears...
I will always be there for you
in body, spirit and mind.

This is all I have to give to you...
My sweet loving sister of mine.

Dedicated to my sister, Lonnie

This Day of Love
Poem by Michelle Holzhei Lansing, MI

On this Wedding day of ours we join our hands and hearts.
The journey that has brought us here, begins a fresh new start.

This is the day that we?ve waited for to celebrate our love.
We begin our lives as husband and wife with blessings from above.

We thank our friends and family for being here with us,
We?re honored to share this special day with those who mean so much.

Special thanks to our parents for their devotion, love and care
For the unconditional love they provide is something we now share.

For those that can not be with us we remember them on this day,
Their love and support surrounds us in each in every way.

On this day we say ?I Do? and kiss as husband and wife,
We celebrate our marriage and our new journey of life.

My Baby Sister
Poem by Lisa Corlito

you've been a part of me,
Through all my growing years,
You've been there for the happy times,
And wiped away my tears!

And now that I'm all grown up,
About to be a bride,
I couldn't have made it to this point,
without you by my side.

From the time when we were children,
it seemed I always knew,
One day when I grew older,
I'd become a friend to you.

We've shared so much as children,
The tears, the joys the pain,
A lifetime spent together,
Those memories remain

In times gone by we've pondered,
the paths our lives have taken,
Knowing that in spite of this,
our sister love unshaken

I'm so glad that you're in my life
and sharing in this day,
I want us to maintain our ties
in each and every way

Although we are quite different,
quite often I don't show,
Just how much I really love you,
More than you will ever know!

It's valentines day
Poem by Kristen

It's Valentine's Day,
Theres so much I want to say.
I don't know where to start,
Guess I'll just follow my heart.

It's our very first, I'm sure it's not our last,
This day came way too fast.
though tonight we can take it nice and slow,
as our bodies move in sync and go with the flow.

This day is very important to me,
because my feelings for u can be set free.
Some say it's no big deal;
but they don't know how being with u feels.
