Printing Your Wedding Invitations

Engraving is the traditional way of setting print onto your invitations. The process actually cuts into the paper, etching it deeply so the letterings and designs are raised. This elegant printing is more expensive than thermography because it is a time consuming procedure that require special plates and ink dyes.

Thermography is a less expensive way of printing your invitations that has a result that is very similar to engraving. Not many people can tell the difference between the two, as thermography also creates a raised effect although its method use embossing techniques rather than cutting into the paper.

Calligraphy can be handwritten by a professional calligrapher, creating that special look of italicized lettering in an elegant hand. This is also time consuming and possibly expensive, unless you have sufficient time for all your invitations to be done in this way.

Computer printing can be the least expensive and the fastest way to get your invitations ready for sending. It will not give you the raised lettering of engraving or thermography, nor will it give you the more personal touch of a true calligrapher, but it can print out calligraphy as well as a plethora of other fonts. Good computer printing can look quite crisp and neat so don't overlook this if you are on a tight budget.
