Bridal Beauty Emergency Primer

No matter how hard you work to avoid it, there’s a good chance that at some point you’ll stress out over your wedding. Chances are, it’ll be the night before. And as we all know, stress does really bad things to your looks and health.

Preventive Measures

· Use sun block religiously before your wedding. You don’t want a sunburned nose in your wedding photos, or, worse yet, peeling skin.

· If you even suspect a pimple of blemish might be forming, use one of the on-the-spot type overnight acne medications immediately to keep it from truly blossoming.

· Don’t try any new procedures just before your wedding. If you’ve never tried a facial peel, mustache wax or bleach, or permanent wave in your hair, DON’T try them two days before your wedding.

Preventive Measures - The Night Before

· Don’t drink any caffeine after noontime, and try not to consume any alcohol either, because both of those (or either one alone) can disrupt sleep patterns, and you really, really want a good night’s sleep.

· Allow yourself enough time in your schedule to wind down before bed. A quite hour with a cup of herbal tea and relaxing aromatherapy candle can help you to calm down.

· Consider writing in a journal to help empty your mind of its nervous jitters the night before. Besides, being able to go back and read your thoughts just before your wedding day will make for a fabulous keepsake years later.

· Don’t exercise heavily or eat a big meal too close to bedtime.

· If it’s getting later and later and you’re still wide awake, consider one of the over-the-counter sleep aids, just this once.

Quick Fixes

Emergency Crying Tip - Brighten red eyes with white eyeliner on the inside of your bottom lid.

Puffy eyes from either a sentimental evening or too little sleep - Cold tea bags, cucumber, or potato slices are very good for reducing puffiness. Drink lots of water and use just a touch of concealer.

Broken nail - Clip the broken nail to as even a length as you can (without removing polish), then file smooth. Reapply a quick coat of polish.

You over tweezed your eyebrows - Fill them in with eyebrow powder and an eyebrow brush that closely matches your own brow’s coloring. Use small, light handed strokes for the most natural effects.

While curing your lashed, you accidentally yank out a few too many of them - Ask a dear friend to dash to the store and pick up a set of the lightest weight false eyelashes she can find. Using tiny scissors, trim off a piece approximately the same size as your missing lashes. Glue into place with eyelash glue. If you need to balance the look, add a couple to the other eye as well.
