Engagement Steps

Traditionally, the groom has been known to kneel down on the ground and ask for his love's hand in marriage.

Although this is romantic, times have begun to change. It is acceptable for both of you to go shopping for the engagement ring. With the investments, it is necessary that the woman really loves the style and design of her ring. Furthermore, when both of you shop together, there won't be any confusion on the correct ring size.

Once the engagement is official, the next step is telling your families and friends. This is a very special time in your life, so the news should be told in a unique fashion. Preferably, you should try to tell your family in person, but a special message over the phone is sufficient.

Step for Engagement

~~ 1. Shopping for the perfect ring

~~ 2. Telling your families

~~ 3. Engagement portrait

~~ 4. Write your fiancé parents a letter, telling them how excited you are to become a part of their family.

~~ 5. If you couldn't tell your family in person, try to make arrangements to see them as soon as possible.

~~ 6. Traditionally, the parents of the bride or a close friend will host a party for the couple to officially announce their engagement.

~~ 7. Send invitations

~~ 8. Send thank you notes for all the gifts

~~ 9. Give a thank you gift to the host
