Tips For Attending A Bridal Show

Here is a list of ways you can prepare for your first bridal show.

Do not go by yourself, but be sure to bring either your future spouse or a friend. Beware of bringing too many people! A suggested maximum is 3 total persons (including yourself). This way nobody will get lost in the crowd.

Many shows offer discounts if tickets are bought in advance rather than at the door. To save money, try to buy early.

If the bridal show is being advertised as a large event, show up before the scheduled start time by about 10 minutes, as a line will begin forming early. By reserving a space in line you will have less hassle accessing the vendors once you are checked through.

Be sure to print mailing labels off your computer with the following information:

- name

- address

- phone number

- e-mail address

- wedding date (“undecided date” if date is not set)

You will find that many vendors will have drawings for door prizes and this will save your hand from doing all the work!

Either bring a bag or be prepared to grab a bag. There will be lots of brochures to pick up. Grab everything in sight and sort out the information later.

If you are genuinely interested in a vendor, do not make a decision on the spot but call later or schedule an appointment to view his/her work before finalizing any details or plans.

Be careful about getting suckered into prizes such as “toss this beanbag for a free tuxedo!”. Many times this is the vendor’s way to force you to put down a deposit on the spot for their services. As stated before, if you are genuinely interested in a vendor, do not make a decision on the spot but schedule an appointment to view his/her work before finalizing any details or plans.

If there is a fashion show, take time out and sit down for a quick break and also to get some good ideas.

Most importantly, have fun!
