You are my once in a lifetime
The truth behind all of my dreams
The one who can keep me together
When I'm coming apart at the seams

The answer to all of my questions
Shelter from the wind and the rain
The face that I see when I'm sleeping
Solace from grief and from pain

Yours is the hand that I cling to
When I'm lost, you're my guiding star
More precious to me than my own soul
My home is wherever you are

There were no cards to tell you
What I feel inside-
So I had to write the prose myself
With words Hallmark couldn?t provide.

It?s not the places that we go,
Or the big things we?ve been through-
The little things are the reasons why
I love you like I do.

The little things you do for me,
The little things you say-
Your tender smile, your teasing grin
You bring sunshine to my day.
The thoughtful little gifts you give,
The little things we share-
Your gentle touch, your perfect kiss
Are the things that show you care.

Our road through life is bumpy,
And it isn?t always straight-
But I?m glad it?s you who?s by my side
With each twist and turn of fate.

So remember all these little things,
As we live our day to day-
Forever in my heart, David-
Is forever where you?ll stay.

It's the little things that develop love,
Not just the obvious that attraction's made of.
Love's what's deep down inside, what begs to be seen,
That place in their heart where nobody else has been.
Love's a sense of comfort, your connection together,
Where after such a short time, it's like you've known them forever.
Where you can just be yourself, know you're loved nontheless,
In their eyes you can see love, without doubt, without guess.
It's the little things that excite us like so,
When love spreads its wings, its beauty lets you know.
It's the little things, like a good-bye kiss,
Those lips you haven't left yet, but you already miss.
Love's such a little word, but its impact's very large,
Your feelings, thoughts, emotions, they all change when love takes charge.
