Wedding Poems: For the Couple (4)

Wonderful Wedding Wishes
Poem by Lorraine Mun Yee Choo Canada

A girl dreams about her wedding
-that blissfully special day.
So much excitement and anxiety
Over what to do and say.

You've found your perfect man
Who loves and cherishes you.
Your loving vows unite your souls,
Creating one heart shared by two.

Marriage is a promise to compromise
No matter how great or small.
Though life is never perfect,
True love surpasses all.

Give freely and unconditionally.
Enjoy a life filled with mutual caring.
I wish you a wonderful marriage
With sweet joys that make life endearing.

From this day forward, may you honour your oath,
I wish everlasting happiness to you both.

The Journey
Poem by G. K. Palmer

Today two hearts, two lives, will begin as one,
They will say their vows, and say I DO,
They will seal it with a kiss, and their life together has begun,
Forever bound, forever true,
Together through this journey of love,
They must learn to cherish, comfort, and trust each other,
Put their love, their friendship, in GOD above
Work together, day by day, help one another,
They work to build a life, a home, a family,
Together forever is their destiny,
Together in loves journey....

To my friend Kristin on your wedding day...
Poem by Colleen Wisconsin

We met back in college.
And I thanked the Lord for you.
You were my friend when I needed you most.
You were my sister when I needed a boost.

Through the years, the miles have separated us.
Honestly, you are the one person I have kept close.
We have had good times and some bad.
But through it all, you have had my back.

I still look to you for advice.
It seems like you have been where I am.
I honor and respect our friendship.
And I know that will never end.

Now, you are getting married.
I am so happy for you that words cannot express.
Although he and I have not met,
The smile in your voice says it best.

You know I'm not the sappy kind.
But I wish you all the love and happiness that the world allows.
God Bless!

The One You Love
Poem by Don Moore

It is hard to think that you are now married
Your luck has been changed and your love has carried
Through the years that you have been together
Knowing now that your love is forever
You will look back at this day when you are old
And move just a bit closer because you are cold
Always remember to thank the man above
Because you are with The One You Love

Marriage Prayer
Poem by Unknown

Lord, help us to remember when we first met
And the strong love that grew between us.
Help us to work that love into practical things
So nothing can divide us.

We ask for words both kind and loving,
And for hearts always ready to ask forgiveness,
As well as to forgive.
Dear Lord, we put our marriage into Your hands.

Amen.
